Lady contemplating her faith

HEMET – As the new pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Hemet, the Rev. Earl Stewart will celebrate his first service Sunday, Dec. 22, at 10:30 a.m.

Stewart’s name was submitted to the congregation by the pastor nominating committee after almost a yearlong search. A congregational meeting was held Nov. 24, at which time Stewart was voted in by the church members as their “Called Pastor.”

Stewart and his wife Lucy live in Murrieta. Lucy Stewart presently is the church’s pianist.

Stewart brings with him years of experience as a solo pastor, interim pastor, missionary and other various positions. Also, throughout his ministry he has taken a variety of continuing education programs and workshops. He is highly educated and has earned over the years a bachelor’s degree, Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry in pastoral counseling and both a master’s degree and doctorate in psychology.

The First Presbyterian Church now begins a new chapter in their life and a focus to the future. They said they believe God has great things in store for them, and they invited anyone who currently does not have a church family to visit and join them for services.

First Presbyterian Church of Hemet is located at 515 East Kimball Avenue in Hemet. Contact them at (951) 658-7153.
