The charitable group has been offering new laptop computers since 2007, and financial scholarships beginning in 2009.

“We are so very proud of our senior class,” Christina James, president of From the Heart, said. “We at FTH are so very proud of each and every graduate. We know that it wasn’t exactly an easy senior year. We also know that you are the first class to go through anything like this, so you have bragging rights. The way that you handle situations like these will be the way that you handle life. You have two choices. Work through it and know it’s all going to be fine, or let it break you down. We feel that you’ve handled it beautifully. Congrats to all of the scholarship recipients. Each and every one of you are more than deserving. We can’t wait to see what life has in store for you.”

Dr. Cameron Kaiser, public health officer of Riverside County ordered the closure of the county’s schools, March 16, to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The women at From the Heart decided to award their annual scholarships, regardless of the new circumstances. The money totals of the financial scholarships and number of laptops is contingent upon the total donations received by From the Heart.

The nondenominational women’s ministry serves the needs of children living in the Anza Valley and surrounding communities. It raises funds to buy Christmas gifts, fill and give away backpacks to school children and assist disadvantaged children, focusing on families and children in need in the mountain communities of Anza, Aguanga, Mountain Center and Idyllwild.
