SAN JACINTO – Grandfathers For Golf needs volunteers of any skill level to help teach more than 200 children how to play golf during the summer session.
Volunteers will instruct students on the basics, such as posture, grip, alignment and swing Tuesday mornings at Golden Era Golf Course in San Jacinto or Wednesday mornings at Echo Hills Golf Course in Hemet.
The program is free for children ages 9 and over, and each participant receives a shirt and a free set of clubs. Volunteers work in groups with the children, teaching them golf fundamentals and life skills, including sportsmanship, honesty, integrity, humility and tenacity.
The summer program is still open for youth signups at http://grandfathersforgolf.org/signup.
The program relies entirely on volunteers and donations. Secure donations are accepted online at www.grandfathersforgolf.org.
