Hamilton K-8 Elementary School’s parent, teacher and student association organized, decorated and managed an evening of dancing, music, food and games for students and their families at the Father/Daughter Dance Friday, Feb. 7.

PTSA members received complementary professional photos. Non-PTSA members could purchase prints for $2 each.

“The energy level is astounding,” one father said. “This is why we direct students into sports.”

The Father/Daughter dance was open to any father figure. Many students brought their mothers, grandfathers, uncles or brothers to share in the special the evening.

PTSA vice president Don Salazar praised his fellow members.

“PTSA president Brandie Shipley checked in the adults and students. Teresa Castro, Monica Arrelleo, Cindy Llamas Wendy Lyons and Brenda Campos decorated the room and food and drinks tables. They also made snacks. Vera Bailey helped print photos,” he said.

Salazar supervised, managing the music and games.

Professional photographs were taken by Joanne Salazar, and the families received the keepsakes to remember the evening. The girls enjoyed the opportunity to dress up and show off their family members.

“My wife also headed the dance committee,” Salazar said. “The event was a great success, being the most-attended dance so far for the school. It was one of the best we have had since I have been involved with the PTSA. We seem to always top the previous year’s dance. We even had home school and area church students attend.”
