LAKE ELSINORE (CNS) – Residents of southwest Riverside County who fear they may be infected with novel coronavirus are encouraged to make appointments for drive-up tests in Lake Elsinore tomorrow and Sunday.
The Riverside University Health System has partnered with Diamond Stadium to provide testing at the athletic venue, located just off Interstate 15 at 500 Diamond Drive.
Services will generally be provided between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. However, officials emphasized that residents must make appointments in advance and must have COVID-19 symptoms.
Appointments can be made by calling 800-945-6171.
“I’m proud of our county and city professionals, as well as our businesses and residents, for pulling together to help one another,” Supervisor Kevin Jeffries, whose First District includes Lake Elsinore, said. “The stadium is great centralized location.”
Coronavirus symptoms are similar to the flu and include sore throat, coughing, congestion and a runny nose, according to health officials.
Lake Elsinore City Manager Grant Yates declared a local emergency stemming from virus concerns earlier this week, and the city council is slated to formally ratify that declaration on Tuesday.
The city will join most other municipalities throughout the county that have issued proclamations.
