Hemet man suspected of child molestation being held on $1 million bail

HEMET (CNS) – A 71-year-old man who’s suspected of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 10 turned himself in and is being held on $1 million bail, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported Wednesday.
Deputies originally responded to a call of an alleged lewd act on a child on Sept. 10 in the 27000 block of Hemet Street, according to sheriff’s officials.
Allan Joseph Mikolaycik was later identified as the suspect, and he surrendered at the Hemet sheriff’s station on Tuesday and was booked at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of oral copulation with a minor under 10 years old, according to sheriff’s officials.
Detectives also identified two additional alleged victims of unspecified related crimes — both are now adults — through the course of their investigation, according to a sheriff’s statement.
According to records, Mikolaycik retired from the Hemet Unified School District in 2010 and was a substitute with the district as recently as 2013.
Mikolaycik is expected to be arraigned Friday at the Banning Justice Center.
Anyone with information regarding the investigation should contact Investigator Vasquez at the Hemet Station at 951-791-3400 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center at 951-776-1099.
