HS Boys’ Basketball: Who’s in and who’s out as postseason games get underway

Many top teams eliminated after first-round CIF playoff knockouts.

Outside of the open division playoffs, the rest of the boys’ basketball teams got their postseason started Wednesday, Feb. 12, and quite a few of the top teams got knocked out early. Of the four Southwestern League teams that made it to the playoffs, only Murrieta Mesa came out unscathed with a 77-63 win over Redlands East Valley. The Rams will move on to face Peninsula on the road Friday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m.

Other local teams that moved past the first round include Orange Vista, Heritage, Perris and Linfield Christian. The next round of games will take place Friday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The Open Division playoffs also start Friday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m.
