It’s finally happening, the first two official weeks of high school football in California have taken place, and in the southwest Riverside County region, Week One games started as early as Thursday, Aug. 29.

Every team inside the Valley News coverage area took to the field this past weekend to truly kick off their 2019 seasons. Some got their season started last week in what is called Zero Week, but this past week was all about getting out there, getting their feet wet, picking up a second straight win or trying to rebound from a tough loss the week before.
