Investigation continues into Perris crash that killed 8 year old

PERRIS (CNS) - Alcohol or drugs are thought to be a factor in a crash that killed two people, including an 8-year-old child, in Perris, authorities said Tuesday. The three-vehicle crash occurred Monday about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Ramona Expressway and Perris Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. According to sheriff's officials, a Mercedes drove through a red light at the intersection and hit a Dodge Durango that was making a turn. The Durango then struck a nearby Honda Accord. Two people inside the Durango -- a 75-year-old woman and an 8-year-old girl -- were pronounced dead at the scene.
