In one of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District Governing Board’s quickest-ever meetings on Thursday, May 14, conducted entirely by Zoom, the board approved an agreement to purchase and install two portable classrooms and one portable restroom at Railroad Canyon Elementary School.
The approximately $255,000 project will accommodate population growth at the elementary school in central Lake Elsinore, according to an agenda report prepared by district staff.
The two 24-by-40-foot modular classrooms are being purchased at a price of about $71,000 each, while the 12-by-40-foot modular restroom will cost about $79,000. Installation is about an additional $4,500 for each structure.
The three modular buildings are procured through a piggyback agreement with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District in Northern California, allowing Lake Elsinore Unified to be extended the same pricing and contract terms entered into by that district.
