Prizes, games and other fun activities for the whole family to partake in will be available for the next weekend in Old Town Temecula as part of “Magic on Main.”
The multi-weekend event – it began the Saturday after Thanksgiving – is being organized by Gillian Larson, the Survivor star who is also behind the annual Reality Rally held in Old Town.
Magic on Main, being held in a lot near Pennypickle’s Workshop on Main Street, features activities like a prize wheel, a Christmas tree ornament decorating table, a coloring contest and more — all things that are aimed at families with young children, a demographic that Larson says is underserved in Old Town.
“The purpose of it is to give families with kids something to do while they are in Old Town,” Larson said.
Other attractions some live music and Christmas carolers, plus Santa at nearby Pennypickle’s. There’s also a gift-wrapping station organized by National Charity Leagues, Larson said.
“We’re encouraging people to buy gifts in old town and bring them down to be wrapped for free,” she said.
All of the activities are free, except for a caricature table being run by Big Foot Graphics, which Larson said has a “minimal charge.”
Attendees can make donations to Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center at the event as well.
Magic on Main was planned in partnership with the city of Temecula Community Services Department and is being run by about 30 volunteers, Larson said.
This is the first year Magic on Main has ever been organized. Larson said she hopes to continue it, depending on this year’s turnout.
The event was scheduled to go ahead on Dec. 7 and 8, but was cancelled due to predicted rain. The remaining dates and times for Magic on Main are:
Friday Dec 13th 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Saturday Dec 14th 9:00am to 2:00pm
Sunday Dec 15th 1:00pm to 5:00pm
