MENIFEE – Menifee has initiated a road improvement project to resurface multiple arterial roads in the area, including Murrieta, Newport, Scott, Menifee and Briggs roads. The city has entered into an agreement with contractor Roy Allan Slurry Seal for resurfacing the existing road by restoring the low to moderately distressed asphalt concrete pavement with an application of slurry seal.
Work on the main thoroughfares begin in April and is anticipated to go until mid-May with potential extensions for inclement weather. The project is funded in part with Measure DD and the gas tax. The length of the project is approximately 6.6 linear miles.
“Traffic in the area will be moderately impacted due to the road improvements, but the contractor will have clear signage for detours,” city engineer Jonathan Smith said. “Residents in or around the project roadways, should plan for slight delays and detours through mid-May.”
“It is the city’s priority to ensure the safety of our roadways, as well as ensure our city’s aesthetic is reflective by the pride of the residents who live and work in Menifee,” city manager Armando Villa said. “We appreciate resident’s patience while we continue to work on traffic circulation and enhancements to our roadways in the city.”
