MORENO VALLEY (CNS) - A 13-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly attacking a fellow student at Vista Heights Middle School in Moreno Valley, sheriff's officials said today. The assault occurred about 3 p.m. Thursday and left a 12-year-old girl “momentarily unconscious,” Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Favero said. Other students came to the victim's aid as she regained consciousness and she eventually returned to class but sought treatment at a hospital later that day, according to Favero. That's when sheriff's investigators learned of the alleged attack and after conducting several interviews, they arrested the 13 year-old suspect Friday morning. He was booked into the Riverside County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of assault likely to cause great bodily injury.
