A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Murrieta Wednesday morning, police said.
A call came in to Murrieta police just after 7:15 a.m. reporting a collision at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Cherry Street involving a single biker.
Officers and Murrieta Fire Department personnel headed to the area and found a 32-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
After a preliminary investigation, police believe the biker was heading west off the French Valley Parkway off-ramp from Interstate 15 – which turns into Cherry Street just past Jefferson – when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed west of the intersection.
No one else was injured in the crash. The biker’s name was not immediately released, pending notification of his next of kin.
