Mr. Happy’s Mercantile in Anza was originally planned as a community-oriented shopping experience, catering to locals and supporting resident artisans and nonprofits. The store has held true to that course, with some wonderful additions to the inventory.

The store has featured vintage consignments, a shipping department and U-Haul rentals. Now they are introducing healthy food options to the Anza Valley.

From keto friendly products, soy and gluten-free pasta, beverages, snacks and more, the shelves are filled with healthy choices never before seen in Anza.

A bank of postage boxes has also been added, giving residents a physical shipping address without the hassle of an outdoor mailbox.

Local artists and craftspeople are still featured, such as knapper Russell Riggle, jeweler Caren Thompson and leather artist Susan Gonzales. Well-known products like Knarley Dog’s spices and sauces, Parker’s Products essential oils and lotions and The Jam Lady Donna Bradley’s jams and jellies are still available at the store, alongside the new items. There are even new collections of knives and pearl jewelry.

It is important to the proprietors of Mr. Happy’s Mercantile to support community nonprofits, such as 4-H Club, Anza Civic Improvement League, Anza Area Trail Town and others. They are always willing to assist these groups in any way they can.

Mr. Happy’s opened Small Business Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016. From renovating the property to stocking and evolving the offerings, this store is here to stay and cater to Anza like no one else can.

Mr. Happy’s Mercantile is located at 57475 State Route 371 in Anza.
