New library coming to Menifee through the Riverside County Library System

MENIFEE – The Riverside County Library System announced that it will be moving forward to build a new library in Menifee, at 28798 La Piedra Road. The 20,000-square-foot library will feature a community room, study rooms and spaces for children, adults and teens. A winter 2020 groundbreaking is estimated by the RCLS.

“This highly anticipated project will bring a much needed amenity for residents on the east side of the city,” District 3 Councilmember Lesa Sobek said. “With the Sun City Library serving more than 227,000 patrons per year, it is one of the busiest libraries in the county. The benefits provided through this new library will be seen and felt by generations of Menifee residents throughout the city.”

The new library facility will be delivered through the P3 Project deal structure, which was approved by the Riverside County board of supervisors in January 2018. The financing for the project will be provided through a privately issued Lease Revenue Tax Exempt Bond structure, with the term of the Ground Lease and Facilities Lease at a period of 30 years made payable to the county library fund.
