A day after the County of Riverside imposed a 12-hour curfew for the whole of the county, Sheriff Chad Bianco said during a meeting of the board of supervisors today that there was no plan to extend the orders.
Questions remained about whether placing the entire county under curfew was necessary, given the relatively peaceful protests that had occurred through Monday evening in cities and communities in southwest Riverside County.
While most businesses in the area closed their doors during the curfew, others did not follow the curfew hours and remained open. Valley News was unable to confirm any reports of active protests during the curfew hours.
Valley News has reached out to the Sheriff’s Department and the Riverside County Board of Supervisors for clarification on which organization made the call on the curfew, but have yet to receive a clear response.
