Ponte Vineyard Inn has reimagined a former lounge into The Cellar cocktail bar and recently reopened it to the public.
One of the few bars in Temecula Wine Country, The Cellar offers wine country visitors to stay a little longer, enjoy food, live entertainment and a well-appointed cocktail, wine and beer menu.
“The highly anticipated transformation of the former Cellar Lounge features a lighter, brighter and more spacious interior with modern lighting and sophisticated updates to the flooring, bar and furniture,” according to a press release issued by the hotel. “Temecula Valley Wine Country’s premier full-service bar presents a thoughtfully curated selection of spirits, craft cocktails and wine, a dining menu of locally sourced and seasonally driven dishes and lively entertainment.”
The wine list, as you might expect, is packed full of Ponte, Bottaia and Hawks View selections, but also includes a good variety of wines from Argentina, Italy, Spain and Germany, as well as domestics from Sonoma, Oregon and Washington.
The Cellar’s specialty beverage menu features an assortment of classic and inventive craft cocktails, such as the newly added Ponte Sour, a take on the New York Sour with a float of Ponte Winery’s pinot noir. There’s also the Lavender Lightning featuring Buffalo Trace bourbon, Rosemary’s Honey with Tito’s vodka, Flores with Azunia Blanco tequila and Green with Envy featuring Denizen rum.
On draft, The Cellar offers Stone IPA, Beachwood Hyabus and local Refuge Blood Orange Wit. There’s a good selection of bottled beers available as well.
The Cellar’s dining menu offers comfort food favorites taken up a notch, such as the lobster mac and cheese and short rib tacos, and classics such as lamb pops. Shareable bites include three sausage and margherita flatbreads and a charcuterie board. Dessert is also on the menu.
“The bar’s sleek, contemporary design boasts chevron hardwood floors, marble tabletops and an elevated palette of white, gray with navy accents reflecting The Cellar’s elegant offerings,” according to the press release. “Cabaret-style seating, intimate banquettes and the bar offer guests varied seating options.”
The Cellar’s stage will feature live entertainment, with music genres ranging from Americana to Latin jazz, from 6-9 p.m. Thursdays and 7-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays from 7-11 p.m.
The Cellar is open Thursdays through Sunday, seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis at 35001 Rancho California Road in Temecula.
