RIVERSIDE (CNS) - All public and private golf courses in Riverside County have been ordered closed in an attempt to curb the spread of the coronavirus. "There was some confusion over the closure of golf courses, and we believe this order makes it perfectly clear that golf courses are not an essential business and people must stop gathering on courses,'' the Riverside County Public Health Officer, Dr. Cameron Kaiser, said Thursday. Kaiser was referring to Gov. Gavin Newsom's statewide state-at-home order issued March 19 that urged Californians to stay home as much as possible amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
