Riverside police seek help solving homicide

RIVERSIDE (CNS) – Riverside police detectives are asking for the public’s help to crack a case involving a 37-year-old handyman who was gunned down just over two months ago.
William Calderon of Moreno Valley was shot to death shortly before 10 p.m. on Sept. 1 as he sat in his vehicle parked on a cul-de-sac in the 7400 block of El Sol Way, just off of Madison Street, in the Casa Blanca neighborhood.
According to Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback, homicide investigators have had little luck identifying potential suspects, or even a motive.
Railsback said witnesses discovered Calderon slumped over in his vehicle and called 911. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.
“William was known as a neighborhood handyman, and there are no indications he was a gang member,” Railsback said, adding that the victim was married and had children.
Anyone with information was asked to contact detectives at 951-353-7134, or via email at rpdtips@riversideca.gov.
