The Sacred Heart Church in Anza held their annual Community Fiesta Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8.

Native dancers, food, music, games, raffles, bingo, a bouncy house, horse shoe tournament, smiling faces and more made for a spectacular weekend of celebration.

Tara Butchart said, “We love our fiesta. It’s a time when we really pull together as a parish and a community.”

Burgers and authentic Mexican food were all part of the festive fare. There were also raffle drawings, a beer garden, a silent auction and much more. The weekend was full of smiles and good times for everyone.

Raffles for cash were won by Barry Guimond, Brandon Cardenas and Pedro Torres. Chelsey Dukes won a new Champion generator.

Breakfast was served Sunday, kicking off the day’s events after the morning service. Local firefighters got in on the action, displaying a truck and letting the children inside for a look.

Many groups, individuals and businesses made this year’s fiesta possible.

Aggie McGowan said, “Both the church community and the Anza community came together and worked hard to make the fiesta a success.”
