RIVERSIDE (CNS) – A 21-year-old San Jacinto man accused of molesting a girl and possessing child pornography pleaded not guilty, a spokesman for the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

Ramiro Gonzalez Cano was arrested last week after a team of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies served a search warrant at his home.

A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a man suspected of uploading child pornography lived at the home led authorities to the location, according to Riverside County District Attorney’s Office spokesman John Hall.

“After Gonzalez Cano was arrested, task force investigators obtained evidence that he reportedly had been molesting a girl under the age of 14 who was known to him,” said Hall.

Prosecutors charged the defendant with five counts of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14, one count of possessing matter depicting child pornography and one count of using a minor for obscene matter.

Gonzalez Cano entered not guilty pleas to all counts on Monday at the Banning Justice Center and is set to appear in court on Feb. 7.

He is being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional on $275,000 bail.
