The Southwest Sheriff’s Station of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced at 4 p.m. Saturday an incident involving a 19-year-old man in Temecula who had threatened family members with a weapon and later barricaded himself within the house.
Sheriff’s were called to the 27000 block of Campana Circle in Temecula Saturday, responding to a report of a family disturbance at a residence.
When deputies arrived, they gathered that Jacob Caitis had brandished a firearm on the family and subsequently escaped the residence when Caitis barricaded himself inside the house.
Members of the department’s Special Enforcement Bureau and crisis negotiators arrived on the scene and after negotiations, Caitis surrounded without incident.
He was later booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center for making terrorist threats, elder abuse and assault with a deadly weapon.
