TEMECULA (CNS) – A fire that engulfed two homes, another structure and nearby brush east of Temecula near Vail Lake today was held to about two acres, and no injuries were reported.
It took firefighters a little over an hour to contain the blaze reported at 9:47 a.m. in the 37000 block of Woodchuck Road, south of state Route 79, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Responding firefighters encountered a structure fire that had spread to nearby brush, and eventually an adjacent home.
The agency sent 25 engine crews and four hand crews, numbering 140 personnel, to battle the fire, along with two air tankers and one helicopter that made runs from overhead.
Fire officials reported the blaze was contained at about 11 a.m.
Nobody was displaced or injured, the department said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
