Blaze blackens field adjacent to I-215 in Perris

PERRIS (CNS) - A fire that broke out today adjacent to Interstate 215 in Perris scorched roughly three acres before it was stopped.The non-injury blaze was reported about 4 p.m. just east of the freeway and just west of the intersection of Nuevo Road and Perris Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.The agency said eight engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames burning through light brush in an open field.No nearby businesses were threatened.Firefighters established containment lines within 30 minutes, fully encircling the brusher, according to reports from the scene.The cause of the fire was under investigation.
