Temecula FC of the National Premier Soccer League, known unofficially as the U.S. fourth division, will host U.S. third division side, 1904 FC of National Independent Soccer Association, Saturday, Oct. 26, in Temecula at Chaparral High School. The professional exhibition will be held at 6 p.m. between the two sides and is the first of its kind being held in Temecula.
“This should be a very exciting night for soccer fans in the Temecula Valley,” Brandon Jantz, Temecula FC owner, said. “It’s a great opportunity for our players to put themselves in the shop window.”
It’s not every day in the U.S. that lower league teams face off against higher league opposition, since they don’t currently have promotion or relegation in our country, Jantz said. It’s not often lower league players get to show their ability to high league clubs.
“It’s also a great opportunity for our local community to see such a high level of professional play here in their own backyard,” Jantz said. “Games like this are what players dream about as they try and move up in the divisions.”
