TEMECULA – Local artists are invited to participate in Temecula’s 13th annual Ralph Love Plein Air Competition from Thursday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Oct. 4.
Plein air artists are invited every year to paint different locations around Temecula during the competition. Canvas submissions must be stamped from Thursday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Oct. 4, to qualify for judging. Stamps for canvas submissions are available inside the Temecula Valley Museum by appointment only by calling 951-694-6455.
This year’s three painting locations include artist’s choice of Old Town Temecula location, Temecula Valley Wine Country winery and Temecula city park.
All entries will be on display tentatively in The Gallery at The Merc from Wednesday, Nov. 4, through Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021. Reception plans are being made with additional details to be provided at a later date pending the latest state and county orders, health protocols and gathering policies.
Winners will be announced at the reception or notified by phone, if a public event is not possible. This year’s awards will include: Best of Show/City Purchase Award with a $500 prize; First Place with a $200 prize; Second Place with a $100 prize and Third Place with a $75 prize.
