Top local teams win at CIF Southern Section cross country finals

Many of the best cross country teams from Southwest Riverside county, including the top individual runners, were repeat winners at the CIF Southern Section Cross Country Championship Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Riverside City Cross County Course.

In Division 1, it was Great Oak that continued their wining way as the girls’ team won their eighth CIF Southern Section title in a row, marking their tenth win in eleven years. The Wolfpack boys’ cross country team also won their fifth CIF-SS title in a row.

Vista Murrieta also placed well, taking sixth overall in the boys’ race and third overall in the girls’ race. In Division 5, the Linfield Christian girls’ team placed second overall.
