Trying for unity? Ask your high school reunion chair

Talking about restoring unity after a conflict is simpler than making that happen. My unpaid activities include co-chairing my high school reunion committee, and I also co-chair the happy hours for 1980s Crawford High School alumni. When the two ladies who were supposed to organize our 30-year reunion backed out and Renee and I didn’t, we took over planning of our reunion – which is like putting Mary Poppins and Indiana Jones in charge. A few years later we briefly turned over the reunion leadership to a pair of classmates who thought they would have better success before they returned control of the reunion matters to Renee and I, so we’ve been reunion committee co-chairs for eight years.
