The Temecula Valley Unified School District governing board received a report on its Local Control Accountability Plan survey, which was open from September through November 2019.
Survey respondents, which included parents, students, staff and community members, gave the district feedback on topics including overall satisfaction with TVUSD and experience with TVUSD.
The survey was distributed to all TVUSD parents, staff and grade 7-12 students, through individual email links, as well as a public access link for anyone to access, according to a staff report.
According to the report, the majority of respondents in three out of four categories reported they were satisfied or extremely satisfied with Temecula Valley Unified. Eighty-five percent of parents, 74% of staff and 61% of students had this response. Fifty percent of community members also responded they were satisfied or extremely satisfied.
About 6,400 parents, 2,300 staff, 6,200 students and 38 community members responded to the survey.
According to district representative Laura Boss, there was a response from at least one parent of 23% of students – more than the district’s target of 15%. It also reached 90% participation from staff, which is over the district’s target of 50%. The only category in which the district did not meet its target was with students – only 43% of students responded, less than the target of 75%.
