The city of Wildomar is inviting residents to spend a night under the stars at Marna O’Brien Park as part of the sixth annual Camp Out in the Park event Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23.
For just $5 a person older than age 5 and free for everyone younger, attendees will have the chance to participate in games, activities, bounce houses and a waterslide from 6 to 8 p.m.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Then at 8:15 p.m., everyone will gather around for a screening of “The Goonies,” which is rated PG, on a big screen at the park.
After that, everyone will can enjoy s’mores in the campground at 10 p.m. The activities end at 10:30 p.m. with “lights out.”
Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 23, and campsites should be packed out by 9 a.m.
Attendees should bring a tent, sleeping bags, chairs, pillows, bathing suits, a flashlight and snacks.
The city has pledged to participate in the Great American Backyard Campout, a national sponsored program with the National Wildlife Federation. For every person that registers for this event, the federation will receive $1. For more information on the program, visit www.backyardcampout.org.
