TEMECULA – The Wine Town Rollers, Temecula Valley’s first roller derby league, will be hosting a holiday-themed roller derby bout Saturday, Dec. 14, at Margarita Community Park, 29119 Margarita Road, in Temecula. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. with their junior derby league kicking off that same night.
A junior Naughty versus Nice bout will take place that same day at 3 p.m. Next up at 5 p.m. is the Wine Town Rollers sixth annual Naughty versus Nice holiday-themed flat track roller derby bout for adults.
The Wine Town Rollers are asking for donations of gently used blankets and towels to benefit the dogs and cats at Animal Friends of the Valleys. Entry is free; however, monetary donations can be made to the league in-person or online at www.paypal.me/winetownrollersca. Bring a folding chair and snacks and pick a spot closer to the track.
The Wine Town Rollers are devoted to the hard-hitting world of women’s flat-track roller derby and is a full member league of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. The league is currently comprised of one local home team, in addition to the WFTDA charter travel team, the Whine Makers. Wine Town Rollers also has a 16-week Raisinette training program for new skaters learning skating skills and the game of roller derby, as well as a junior league for boys and girls ages 7-17, the Juice Box Crushers.
