The heavy metal band Helsott includes Menifee resident Eric Dow as well as four musicians who live in San Diego County. Helsott was one of the bands that played at this year’s Wacken Open Air heavy metal festival in Germany.“It’s such an honor to play that festival,” Dow said.The Wacken Open Air metal festival has been held since 1990, with exceptions in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year, the Wacken metal festival began July 30 and concluded August 2.
