WASHINGTON — Mountain West Food Group LLC, a Heyburn, Idaho, establishment, is recalling about 2,855 pounds of raw ground beef that may be contaminated with E. coli O26, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said Friday.
The recalled product was produced Dec. 16 and consists of 16-ounce vacuum-sealed packages labeled “FORWARD FARMS GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF,” with a “Use or Freeze By 01/13/26” date and establishment number “EST. 2083” printed on the side of the packaging.
The ground beef was shipped to distributors in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Pennsylvania and Washington for further distribution to retail locations.
The potential contamination was discovered during routine FSIS testing, which detected the presence of E. coli O26.
