A motorcyclist was airlifted to a regional trauma center following a collision with a passenger vehicle on Ortega Highway late Sunday afternoon.
The crash was reported at 4:21 p.m. on a stretch of the highway west of the Candy Store, south of Lake Elsinore. According to preliminary incident reports, a single motorcycle struck a passenger vehicle.
The motorcycle rider was transported from the scene by medical helicopter with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The scene has been turned over to law enforcement for further investigation into the cause of the crash.
