Driver arrested on suspicion of DUI after high-speed crash in San Jacinto

SAN JACINTO — A driver traveling more than 100 miles per hour was reported to have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a major traffic collision early Friday morning, March 6, in San Jacinto, authorities said.

The crash occurred at approximately 1 a.m. at the intersection of Sanderson Avenue just south of Ramona Boulevard.

Cal Fire Engine 25 responded to the scene and found two vehicles with significant damage, according to incident reports.

Emergency medical personnel with American Medical Response transported one person to a local medical facility for treatment. The extent of the person’s injuries was not immediately known.

Authorities said the driver believed to be responsible for the crash was traveling about 105 mph before the collision and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
