Olympic-level equestrians and rising stars will converge at Galway Downs Equestrian Center for an international competition scheduled for March 26–29. The event will feature top riders and horses competing in multiple phases of Three-Day Eventing.

As part of the weekend’s activities, the venue will host a special Progressive VIP Cross-Country Tour on Friday, March 27.

The exclusive tour will begin with a gourmet breakfast from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the ringside Grand Prix Pavilion. Following breakfast, guests will experience close-up views of competition on Galway Downs’ renowned cross-country jumping course, which spans four miles and winds through much of the facility’s 242 landscaped acres.

The first stop on the tour will be the Haven at the Galway Yacht Club, where spectators can watch competitors navigate ponds, grassy mounds and substantial jumps from a safe vantage point. The course is designed to test the courage, athleticism and training of both horse and rider, as well as the unique partnership required to complete the challenges.

From there, participants may continue on a walking tour of additional course highlights or take a hayride to another viewing area near the control tower overlooking the Oak Tree Water complex.

Throughout the tour, equestrian experts will provide commentary and insights. Two-time Olympic equestrian Lauren Billys-Shady will serve as the featured expert for the VIP experience.

International competitors are scheduled to begin tackling the cross-country course at 10 a.m. During that time, wines and champagne will be served from Danza del Sol Winery and Masia de la Vinya Winery.

The tour will conclude with a gourmet lunch in the Grand Prix Pavilion.

Competition in all phases of Three-Day Eventing will take place Thursday, March 26, through Sunday, March 29, and will be free for the public to attend.

Tickets for Friday’s Progressive VIP Cross-Country Tour are $125 and are available online at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4DAFAD2AABFCCE9-62474483-friday#/. Additional information about upcoming equestrian events can be found at galwaydowns.com or email info@galwaydowns.com.
