Firefighters successfully knocked down a second-story house fire in San Jacinto on Tuesday morning, containing the blaze in under 30 minutes.
Crews from the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department responded to the 1400 block of Sarona Court following a report of a residential structure fire at 8:42 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders encountered a well-established fire burning on the second story of a single-family home.
Due to the size of the blaze, additional resources were immediately dispatched to the scene to assist the initial crews. Through a rapid, coordinated offensive attack, firefighters officially achieved containment by 9:10 a.m.
Fire officials stated that personnel would remain on the scene for an additional hour to conduct overhaul and salvage operations. This standard procedure ensures all hidden hot spots within the walls and ceilings are completely extinguished and helps protect the homeowners’ remaining belongings from further smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Authorities have not immediately reported whether anyone was inside the home at the time the fire broke out, nor if there were any injuries to residents or firefighters.
