Firefighters are battling a heavy second-alarm residential structure fire that broke out late Thursday afternoon in Moreno Valley.
The blaze was reported at 5:18 p.m. in the 13400 block of Edgemont Street. Upon arrival, first responders encountered a residential structure with heavy fire visible, prompting the incident commander to immediately request a second-alarm response for additional personnel and equipment.
The City of Riverside Fire Department was called in to assist Moreno Valley crews in containing the aggressive blaze.
At this time, it is unclear if the structure was occupied when the fire ignited. Any occupants or personnel involved are currently considered to be individuals with injuries of unknown severity, pending official updates from fire authorities.
