The Linfield Christian Lions are on a massive roll after they recently extended their winning streak to eight games this past week after two impressive victories over Brea Olinda and La Mirada. With these wins, the Lions improved their overall record to an outstanding 16-1.

The action began on Tuesday when Linfield Christian faced off against the Brea Olinda Wildcats. The Lions entered the matchup with six consecutive wins and left with a seventh, defeating the Wildcats 7-3. This victory gave the Lions more bragging rights, as they also won the last head-to-head meeting between the two schools.

Tyce Johnson and Preston Nicewarner did most of the damage at the plate for the Lions. Johnson went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Nicewarner also went 2-for-3, delivering two RBIs, one run, and one double. That performance marked the most RBIs Nicewarner has posted in a single game since February. Brody Vizenor played a key role as well, going 2-for-4 and scoring two runs. The defeat dropped Brea Olinda’s record to 7-10.

On Wednesday, the Lions faced a much tougher test in a tournament matchup against La Mirada. This game featured two of the top-ranked teams in the state. Both pitching staffs entered the game allowing an average of only 2.4 runs per contest, meaning every run would be difficult to earn.

The game lived up to expectations, turning into a tense, low-scoring battle. Linfield Christian ultimately edged past the Matadores with a 2-1 victory. This narrow win pushed the Lions’ record to 16-1 and extended their streak to eight straight wins. The loss dropped La Mirada to 13-4 on the season.

Thanks to their massive success on the field, Linfield Christian holds the top spot in the Ambassador League standings. They boast a perfect 3-0 league record and a 16-1 overall mark. The team has scored a massive 121 runs this season while allowing only 40.

Aquinas sits right behind them, also holding a 3-0 league record, with a 9-5 overall standing. Woodcrest Christian occupies the third spot with a 1-0 league record and a 9-4 overall mark. Rounding out the league standings are Arrowhead Christian at 0-3 in the league and 4-10 overall, followed by Ontario Christian at 0-4 in league play and 4-14 overall.

The Lions will look to keep their winning streak alive when they hit the road for their next game. Linfield Christian is scheduled to play Arrowhead Christian this week.
