The Redshank Riders, a unit of Backcountry Horsemen of California, will host an Obstacle Challenge Sunday, Sept. 6, at the Stumblin L Ranch in Anza.The event will test partnership between horse and rider as teams navigate natural obstacles, with an emphasis on challenge rather than speed. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., with the first rider on course at 9 a.m.Divisions include in-hand, novice and open. Entry is $50 per rider and division with early registration by Aug. 30, or $70 the day of the event. Entries include a hamburger or hot dog meal.First-place winners will receive Dale Chavez buckles.
