Two Hemet fire stations will be receiving new backup generator systems.A 5-0 Hemet City Council vote on September 8 approved an agreement for the purchase and installation of backup generator systems at Station 3 and Station 5. The contract with Quinn Power Systems is for $245,174.55, and the city manager was authorized to approve change orders which do not cumulatively exceed the project’s $264,000 budget.Station 3 is in the 4100 block of West Devonshire Avenue. The existing backup generator currently provides limited emergency power only to the apparatus bay and radio room. The purchase will replace the system with a generator capable of powering the entire station, including the WestNet Alert dispatch system, living quarters, automatic station gates, cooling systems, and refri
