As a resident of Fallbrook, since 1994, and District 3 of the North County Fire Protection District, I am writing to support the re-election of Director Ken Munson.
After my retirement as the San Diego County Agricultural Commissioner and Sealer of Weights and Measures (1983-2006), I was fortunate to serve on the NCFPD for 12 years.
During the Rice fire, Director Munson was one of the Directors who stayed behind to assist as needed the entire five days of evacuation for Fallbrook and Rainbow.
Ken has served as President of the NCFPD Board several times and was also elected by the members of the North County Dispatch Joint Powers Authority (North Comm) to serve as its President until 2025. North Comm provides fire and emergency medical dispatch services for a population of over 700,000 residents covering 448 square miles in Northern San Diego County.
Ken is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the USAF, a member of the VFW, the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce, the Bonsall Rotary and a contributor to the app Watch Duty.
Ken has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to this community and to NCFPD. Moreover, he has been instrumental in enabling this special district to become one of the best fire districts in the County, if not the State. He has influenced and supported the funding for staff additions, training, equipment purchases and workplace and infrastructure improvements. He has made this community protected and prepared.
Therefore, I strongly support, and kindly request, your vote for Ken Munson as Director, District #3, as the best qualified candidate.
