MURRIETA (CNS) - Jury selection is expected to conclude tomorrow or
Wednesday for the trial of an ex-con accused of shooting and wounding a Moreno
Valley man during a confrontation on the north end of the city.
Travis Mitchell Hicks, 30, of Perris allegedly perpetrated the attack
in the 23500 block of Sunnymead Ranch Parkway, near Old Lake Drive, in February
2018.
Hicks is charged with attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic
firearm, being a convicted felon in possession of a gun, being a felon in
possession of ammunition and sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily injury
allegations.
Riverside County Superior Court Judge Stephen Gallon summoned several
panels of prospective jurors to the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta
