RIVERSIDE - Elsinore High School swept the Riverside County Academic Decathlon for the sixth straight year and will go on to be the lead local team competing in the statewide event next month, officials announced today.
Elsinore High, which is within the Lake Elsinore Unified School District, was one of a dozen teams that competed for top honors in the two-week virtual contest, which focused on the theme ``Water: A Most Essential Resource,'' according to the county Office of Education.
The competition involved essays, speeches, videotaped interviews and related presentations, culminating in a Super Quiz, officials said.
Elsinore High has won every countywide academic decathlon since 2017.
