J&L Constructors given EVMWD backflow device replacement contract

The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District awarded J&L Constructors the contract for the third phase of the EVMWD backflow device replacement project.The EVMWD board voted 5-0 June 9 to award J&L Constructors the contract for the Huntington Beach company’s bid amount of $928,000. The board action authorized a total expenditure amount of $971,472 which also includes $38,832 for staff time and $4,640 for overhead.Public water systems are required by state law to protect their water supplies from contamination by implementing a cross-connection control program which must include the installation of backflow prevention assemblies if a potential hazard to the water supply is identified.
