The Eastern Municipal Water District will seek a state Department of Water Resources grant for groundwater management of the San Jacinto Groundwater Basin.A 5-0 EMWD board vote Wednesday, Dec. 21, adopted a resolution authorizing the filing of an application to DWR for Sustainable Groundwater Management Grant Program funding and designating an authorized representative to prepare the data and execute a funding agreement. Eastern is requesting approximately $17.2 million of grant funding to cover the cost of the proposed components.In 2014, California adopted the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.
