
District Superintendent Dr. Ward Andrus has announced that Richard Rideout has been appointed to serve as the district’s Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. The Board of Education unanimously voted to approve the appointment at its most recent board meeting. Rideout’s employment contract will be presented for board approval at the April 20 regular meeting.
Rideout, a seasoned educator with 24 years in education, was selected after a nationwide search conducted by Leadership Associates. He has proven to be a visionary leader with a track record of inspiring administrators, creating leadership development systems, and building bridges amongst educational partners which perfectly suits the needs of the Murrieta Valley Unified School District. For the past five years, Rideout has served as the Chino Valley Unified School District Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Additionally, he has held positions as a Director, Principal, Assistant Principal, Student Teacher Supervisor and Special Education Teacher for educational institutions throughout Riverside County.
Superintendent Andrus said, “Richard embodies the values of our community and has a vibrant energy that will captivate employees. His expertise in supporting educators and their professional development while simultaneously collaborating with and shining a light on what is best for students is impressive.”
Rideout said, “I would like to thank the Murrieta Valley Board of Education and Superintendent for placing trust in me to lead the Human Resources Division. I look forward to cultivating phenomenal collaborative relationships with staff so that their time, talent and efforts can be used to support the education of the great students we serve in Murrieta. As I prepare to leave the Chino Valley Unified School District after nine amazing years, I am excited and humbled to begin this next journey with the Murrieta Valley Unified School District community.”
Rideout, a Doctoral candidate in Leadership Studies at California Baptist University, has a Master of Arts in Education from National University and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Willamette University.
