The Murrieta City Council recognized Sizzler franchise owner Sally Myers for her efforts in founding the notable Student of the Month award program in the Valley during a special presentation July 2 at the Murrieta City Hall.Surprising Myers with the recognition were Mayor Lori Stone, Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Warren, and Council Members Lisa DeForest, Ron Holliday and Jon Levell who most have attended the Murrieta Student of the Month events.Myers gratefully accepted the Certificate of Recognition from the council and gave an explanation of how she first began hosting the Student of the Month and the Student of the Year programs sponsored by various businesses and chambers of commerce 33 years ago.
