The hottest day so far in 2019 coincided with the second and final day of the Temecula Art and Street Painting Festival, Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9, in front of Temecula City Hall.Considering the artists participating in the chalk mural competition spend the majority of their time on their hands and knees adding intricate details to the temporary murals on the street asphalt, the jump in temperature added a bit of adversity to the process. But that didn’t dampen the spirits of the artists themselves. Even as the sun hung high on Sunday, with temperatures reaching 97 degrees, young and old, the artists kept plugging away to create a mural that would compete for the $100 Best of Show prize. As of press time, the results of the contest were not known.[gallery columns="1" size="medi
